What is evident in Naish’s art is the deep understanding of modern cartography and the contemporary metropolis.
His paintings give expression to all that manifests through his personal experiences living in an industrialized technocratic society.
His interest in architecture, micro-circuitry, urban planning, computer chip design, and satellite photography are all explored with intelligence and verve.
Although much of the work is painted on a grand scale, there is a corresponding intimacy that draws the viewer in for closer inspection.
City of Cities is an excellent example of this use of scale as is the work Surveillance and Electric Boulevards.
